Duties:
- Route Planning: Using transport software to create delivery schedules while considering traffic & legal driving hours.
- Driver Management: Briefing & debriefing drivers on routes, tracking their progress & handling post-trip debriefs.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring drivers complete defect checks & that vehicles are roadworthy. They monitor driver hours to obey safety laws.
- Communication: Acting as the main link between drivers, warehouse staff, managers, trailer suppliers & customers, plus wider parts of the group.
- Problem Solving: Rerouting trucks to avoid delays & adjusting transport plans for emergencies such as traffic jams, RTA’s, truck breakdown etc.
- Documentation: Managing delivery notes, proof of delivery (PODs) & invoicing paperwork
- Systems: Using Enterprise, EPS, Webfleet, HFX & Chalk board
